Electronic Explorations have premiered a new mixtape by Vancouver-based composer Olivier Alary. The mix, called “porous music”, is a selection of material blurring the boundaries of the genre they belong to – from musical sound art, fake ethnographic documents and off-pop to mystic minimalism. It features the likes of John Cage, Morton Feldman, Nico Muhly, Jim O’Rourke, Arthur Russell, John Adams, Ennio Morricone, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Maurice Ravel, and Sarah Peebles. You can read the feature and check out the mixtape here.
Olivier’s debut solo album is released next month.
