Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch returns with a first single from a brilliant new album. ‘Ravage’ is the title track from the London-based French pianist / composer’s first standalone album since 2018’s ‘Époques’, following which she has been busy building a name for herself scoring an increasingly high-profile series of films.
A powerful album that charts the process of grieving for a parent, Emilie describes ‘Ravage’ as “the most intimate and personal project I’ve created”. Recorded at home in London over the lockdown winter of 2020/21, the composition process began way back towards the end 2018 with the title track, which Emilie felt compelled to write during a period of intense grief after losing her father.
‘Ravage’ is released as a 2-track digital single and in a limited physical edition as a lathe-cut 10″ in a hand-stamped and numbered edition of just 30 copies. Available exclusively via Bandcamp, this comprises black lathe-cut vinyl in a white paper inner and 285g charcoal grey recycled card outer sleeve, each coming with its own unique vintage photograph, all housed within a PVC sleeve signed by the artist. It precedes an LP of the same name, which is released on 27th May.
