It’s been a long time coming, but a significantly expanded vinyl issue of Hauschka’s debut album for us, ‘Room To Expand’, will be out for the first time for Record Store Day tomorrow (Saturday April 16th).
The album, which was Volker’s first release for us way back in 2007, features SIX exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, and comes on double vinyl, issued in a gatefold sleeve with new artwork, liner notes insert and a full digital download coupon. It was pressed in a limited edition of 1,500.
Unfortunately, due to crazily long production timelines, we have not been able to make the album available in the USA, and it will be available on RSD for UK / EU only. CD and digital versions of the album will be released on 8th July.
As part of the RSD protocol, we aren’t able to offer the album for preorder or to sell it until a week or two after the RSD event has passed, but any unsold stock will be made available through the FatCat store, and we will post news of that across our sites as soon as it becomes available.
We’ve been uploading some images from the artwork across our Facebook and Instagram pages, and there was also a nice Arts Desk review of the release here.
